Today in class we discussed our final exam, our iMovie trailer, and our blog post. For me, I still have my part 3, 4, and 5 to turn in for my final exam presentation.  Now we have out IMovie trailer due as a group project. Everyone had to sign-up for the iMovie groups.We also learned this week that we only have one more blog post after this one and its actually kind of sad. However, Today I am trying to catch up on my final exam lesson because our professor just told us we only have three and half weeks of school left and I am now going into panic mode. I have a lot of catching up to do!!!

BLOG POST 8 — March 30, 2017


Today in class we went over how to turn our Smart presentations into pictures. Tuesday in class we went into the Activinspire website and converted out Smart presentations into The activinspire software. Thursday we talked about step 3, 4, 5 of our final exam. Professor Mosley explained to the class all the steps goin into the final exam. For example, part 4 is the voice recording. We will use audacity to record us talking, which we learned about previously in the semester. You may need to take some time to think of what to say. Coming back from spring break has been tough but I made it. Tuesday was covered primarily more things to do with our Smart notebook lesson. My lesson plan is going to be about the days of the week and on one slide its just going to say the days of the week while the other slides explain the hand motion used in sign language that symbol the days of the week. On Thursday, Group 6 presented their presentation about online resources. We also learned that we have to turn our Smart project into a pdf file before we turn it in in canvas.

This week, in Technology  for the 21st century classroom, we talked about the process of creating our part 2 to our final exam. We also talked about an our #1 notebook lesson assignment. Professor Mosley helped us along with this so the class wont not have to finish it over out upcoming spring break. We talked about making a lesson plan using a smart board and getting to know how to use the Smart board and making lesson with SMART notebook. Hope fully when I have my own classroom, my knowledge of these tools will come in handy while making my own lesson plans.

Today in Edu 220 we talked about why promethean  boards  are just getting old. The most recent technology has begun to over shadow what we know as our “smart boards.” For example some schools are getting IPads for there classrooms. Well, students can access the same thing on their iPads as they can on the promethean boards. We also watched a video about smart boards. The video tells the viewers that “anything you do on your computer, you can do on your smart board.” Then our teacher explained to us that we are going to have to create a lesson plan that interacts with the smart board.

This week in the class of 21st century technology in the classroom,  Feb. 20th- 25th, we are learning about concept mapping. A concept map is basically just a diagram to descried the relationship between different concepts or things. The main reason people use concept maps is to keep everything organized in one given document. For example, In class we are creating a concept map of our family trees for one of our classes homework assignments. This week in class we learned about LMS and how to use it. Also this week we learned how to use zoom. Zoom is a website that people can log into and watch live streamed video. Zoom can be used for having online meetings, webinars, group messaging, or you could even watch live streaming video if you are not in a class. Zoom is also a cloud based system. You can use Zoom website or app on pretty much all your devices. It is a very efficient way to catch up on class work when you are sick or you just do not make it to class. In the class of technology for the 21st century classroom, we began our week by finishing up our lesson on how to correctly use Audacity. Audacity is a web program that effectively and efficiently helps you create voice recording. It has many features that can come in handy when tuning or improving better sound quality of your recordings. You can use these recording for a slideshow or any presentation you might wish.

Each student also created their own Diigo accounts. Diigo is a cloud based website that allows you to bookmark and do many types of other things through using it. The web page however is different from many other because it is cloud based which means you can share to any type of technology on demand. We tinkered with bookmarking a little bit in our Thursday class as well.

So far in our 21st century technology class we discovered the AU One-Login Sign in. This gives all Anderson students to login to one account and find multiple account such as your Anderson email, canvas, your self service, and many more. 

One very important login we almost learned about is call G-suite. G-suite is short for what is known as Google Apps for Education. G-suite is basically a Google email account that is linked to every Anderson students school email. You can save important files like music, word documents, or pictures. You also have access to google docs and google slides. These are just a free google version of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. You can also save your important documents on your google drive.

We also first Microsoft PowerPoint. Within class we learned how to insert audio recordings and overlap music from slide to slide. The purpose of this video assignment was to introduce yourself to the class by using pictures and the introduction questions given to us on our first day of class by our Professor.
